  • I bought a computer off someone and it says user when I turn it on and asks for a password? Any idea what to do from there? Is there a way to hard reset it or is there a pin that is default with the generic guest?

  • Hi, so I've done the resetting via your method where I go to settings. I chose the option to remove everything however when I set up the pc again, I still see some drivers that were previously there before the reset (steam streaming microphone and speakers). I do not want that and want an actual factory reset like when I got it brand new. How would I do that?
I've got the Dell XPS 15 9550 and I see that the original factory image is gone. I've tried using the recovery tool from Dell where I used they needed me to put a 16gb usb. I did that and restarted the pc, but as soon as the Dell logo disappeared, there was only a blue screen with nothing on it. After about 10 seconds, the pc would turn off. When I start it again, it goes to log in screen as if nothing happened.
What are my options now?! I really would like a factory reset as I believe I may have viruses and malware, and by using your method apparently it does not completely clear those out.
Sorry for the long paragraph… Thanks for your help!
