Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery (Official Dell Tech Support)



Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery provides a recovery environment that consists of tools to diagnose and troubleshoot issues that may occur before your computer boots to the operating system. When your computer is unable to boot to the operating system even after repeated attempts, it automatically starts SupportAssist OS Recovery. The 4 main options in the recovery environment enables you to diagnose hardware issues, repair your computer, back up your files, or reset your computer to its factory state.
Please note that SupportAssist OS Recovery is available only on certain Dell systems that run a Dell factory-installed Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and only on newer models produced as of September 2018. SupportAssist versions also vary by region.

  • I backed up the data and resetted the laptop but now when i am trying to restore the data i don't have the file_restore.exe file in it and only the archive file. What should i do now? I even tried to extract the archive file using other applications like winrar but no success. Please Help

  • Congratulations to Dell! They have this "Support Assist" tool that they tell you to use if you need to restore the drivers on your laptop — but the laptop cannot connect to the net without the drivers and Support Assist won't even install without being connected to the net.

  • Hey, when I try to reset laptop using supportAssist. There are two options 1 is reset factory settings and other is reset and update. I have bad internet connection. I want to only reset but that option I can't select I don't know why it's like unable to select, I select the other one which is rest & update.
