Mel Robbins is a married working mother of three, an ivy-educated criminal lawyer, and one of the top career and relationship experts in America. Widely respected for her grab-’em-by-the-collar advice and tough love, Robbins drills through the mental clutter that stands between people and what they want. Her approach is smart, effective and entertaining. Five days a week, Mel hosts her own syndicated radio show The Mel Robbins Show, discussing hot topics and giving advice to callers across America. She is starring in a new series, In-Laws, airing this summer on A&E. In addition, she writes a monthly column for Success Magazine, is a former CNBC contributor and is the co-founder of Advice for Living, Inc., which develops products and television programming with experts in the wellness, health, relationship and career categories.

Most nights, once the kids are in bed, you’ll find Mel at home with a bourbon on the rocks and her Australian Shepherd at her feet, writing about life, love and everything else on her award-winning blog:

  • I watched this Tedx Talk 4 years ago and that's the first video to ever change my life. Robbins is who we should be looking up to. I'm so glad I discovered her when I was 13.

  • I have tempered the word FINE since I was in High School, that the acronym means more than the word itself… Fx*ked , Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional. And when I throw the word back to those using the word are very far from fine, but in fact falling apart.

  • Sugiero substitución en castellano o Español, somos muchos y llega a más gente.

Sugiero subtitulaciones, en un idioma imparcial e universal, como es el ESPERANTO.

    Saludos y gracias.

  • Good message delivered in a very American way… which turns me off but if I get past the irritating delivery it's important message.

  • LOL – The number on the screen at approx. 08:09 says 400,000,000,000 which is 400 BILIION – not 4 trillion as Mel Robins said. So much for Ted Talk's number illiteracy.

  • idk man she doesn't look that happy i feel like being harsh with yourself might work to get resoults but the more you do it the more you feel like a sh*t cuz like there's a reason why you dont want to do the things you dont want… am i bad at studing or acheiving goals? yes! what if i force myself and push as much as it takes? i lose my enjoyment from life not a big deal you know… because it's not just studing. trying to do all perfectly is hard- it uses a lot of your strengh and well maybe just to much of it… i know that i need to "do the things" but just ignoring all of my feelings not gonna make life feel better you know?

  • I'm proud to say that after watching numerous of videos in TED, I've spread the word. And nothing's gonna make your heart warmer than knowing that the people you've told to watch TED videos are changing their lives because they finally saw the light. Every person just need enlightenment, and it wouldn't hurt to spread the light that you have.

  • I completely relate to how Mel refers to long periods in our comfort zone as "stuck" and stepping out of as "forcing". Facing fear is never easy, but it is the route to "the magic"!
