The Razer Core X Chroma is an external GPU enclosure which can be used to improve the performance of your laptop simply by connecting a single Thunderbolt cable. In this review we’ll take a look at gaming benchmarks, see what this new version of the Core X has to offer and find out if an external graphics solution is worth it.

What other eGPU testing do you want to see? I want to test different laptop CPUs, different graphics cards, other applications outside of gaming, and compare with a desktop PC in future.
Do you need to have a Razer laptop to use the core X chroma GPU, or can i have a MSI laptop and place the usb in?
i own a dell g5 gtx 1060 i5 8th gen. if i buy this core x and put a 2080 super max inside will my intel i5 handle that or do i need to upgrade that too? thanks
this is weird I got
more FPS when playing battlefield
v with rX 580. It was around 70 to 80 fps
Is it possible to run 144hz if i use a gpu that supports it?
I have an Intel NUC Skull Canyon (the NUC6i7KYK kit) with 32GB of RAM and enough amount of SSD space. I'm considering buying an external GPU enclosure together with an RTX 2070 Super or RTX 2080 Ti GPU in order to play Half-Life Alyx in VR. Do you think this setup could deliver good performance? As far as specs are concerned, I see that this setup does meet the recommended requirement for Half-Life Alyx. But I'm not sure whether I'm missing some important point there. Basically, I'm going in a rather unconventional way, i.e. eGPU -> Thunderbolt 3 -> Intel NUC -> VR headset.
Much appreciated to have your views please. Thanks.
bruh im not sure what this actually is… is that a kind of a pc?
How does this eGPU (w/ RTX 2080TI) work on a laptop connected to a 4K external monitor?
I’m like hey get a thunderbolt 3 laptop get a quadro RTX 8000 and have a workstation slash laptop then you can steadily upgrade laptop or graphics card with mobility
Why does my laptop have 2 thunderbolt inputs?
seems kinda useless
For someone like me who have a Dell Latitude 7200 2-in-1 tablet and always bring it everywhere, this Razer eGPU enclosure is definitely a perfect home companion.
Everything in this video is so great! Except your tone. You keep using the same tone throughout the video and it's very distracting and offputting. You need to be aware of trying not to use the same tone pattern of going down at the end of almost every sentence. Idk about other people but it is very hard to watch this video fully.

I bought this model razer 13.3 CHROMA, I really liked it, there is no way to leave several FIXED colors, just changing right? do you know if you can circumvent this? the old models, it was like. wanted to leave it like this> https://i.ibb.co/RBFR17m/razer-blade-stealth-1.jpg
2019/2020 my model.
thanks.
If I connect the Core X to an external monitor, will I hear the audio coming from monitor speakers or from my laptop??
Jarrod, will this work if your laptop doesn't have a Thunderbolt 3 port, but a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port instead?
does the razer chroma X works with the EVGA 2080ti FTW3?
does this come with the graphics card?
does the product come with a graphics card, or do you need to install your own?
So you bought a external GPU, hooked it up to a laptop, then hooked up a external monitor from the laptop. Why not just a get a PC at this point? Its like the most ghetto Mars Astronaut Gaming setup lmao its cool as heck but really it has no function, at that point your carrying so much you might as well just get a PC
It was necessary to compare the performance of a laptop with eGPU with the performance of the same video card installed on a desktop computer.
There are two reasons for the difference in performance in favor of a desktop computer. The first is a processor, for comparison accuracy it is necessary to use a processor equal to the performance installed in the i7-8565u laptop. The second is the ability of the Thunderbolt 3 interface to use the full power of the video card while not exceeding the flow of valid data for the interface’s capabilities of 40 Gbit/s, otherwise the video card will not use all its power.
I would like to hear comments on this subject.
No hdmi?
you forgot to mention the mac mini scenario, its not just laptops which need an eGPU
is this a good option if you don't want a dual streaming set up ?
I have got the Razor core x Chroma today, but I didn't get a GPU yet, I have a dell XPS 13 inch 4K display with 16 GB ram and 512 SSD core i7 8th gen.
what is your recommendation for a GPU not so expensive and around 200 Pounds here in UK.
this is the true testing channel what i willing to see , nice explanation with solid benchmark result support .
This might be a dumb question since this is an old video, but did you actually get around to making a video testing the performance of GPUs in an eGPU like this versus the same GPU in a desktop? I ask because I've recently ordered a Blade 15 Base since the price was dropped to shift old stock before the 10th gen ones come in and had in mind to use of these down the line to up the graphical horsepower if/when I needed to; and it's been hard to find concrete metrics on that comparison.
Can you use this on macs?
