ITV quiz show The Chase gives members of the public the chance to win a large cash prize but the programme has also produced a number of celebrity specials – one of which aired tonight – to raise money for charity. As always, Bradley Walsh was on hand to guide the players through the show but the host was lost for words by Springwatch star Kate at one point this evening after she proceeded to walk off straight after her head-to-head today. This evening’s instalment saw Joe Swash, Fiona Bruce, Rick Edwards and Kate Humble battle it out against one of the show’s five Chasers. Tonight, Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett in the chair as the contestants hoped to outrun the quizzing legend. First up tonight was Antiques Roadshow host, Fiona, who managed to bag an impressive £7,000 in her cash-builder. After opting to keep the sum, she soon made it through to the Final Chase, with her teammates all hoping to join her soon after. Rick delivered and joined Fiona back at the podium, before it was Kate’s turn to take on The Beast, getting six questions correct in her cash-builder. She decided to stick with the offer and play for £6,000, storming ahead as on her final question, she was still two steps ahead of Mark. Bradley asked her: “In the theory of early evolution, what name is given to the mixture of organic molecules from which life developed? The host gave the pair three options to choose from – A, primordial soup, B, primordial yoghurt, or C, primordial porridge. Kate quickly pressed her button before Bradley told viewers: “You’ve put, A, primordial soup – it’s got to be,” Kate nodded, adding: “It’s got to be,” echoing the host’s remark before he revealed she had got the answer correct. However, Kate quickly proceeded to walk back towards her teammates, before Bradley had the chance to debrief the round. Usually, after a round has ended, the host asks The Chaser to comment on the contestant’s performance, but Kate had already left the pair behind. Bradley was left speechless and soon gestured her towards the podium and the rest of her team burst into laughter after realising Kate’s error. A red-faced Kate made her way her way back and Mark couldn’t resist a dig at his co-star, telling Bradley: “She must disrespect you so much, Mr Walsh.” Kate just
